Through the Beautification Grant Program, applicants may request Mini Grants, Garden Grants, Community Beautification Grants or Maintenance Support Grants to create or care for projects that beautify public spaces. The category and grant amount depend on the scope of the project.
Mini Grants are for qualifying organizations who would like to participate at a “mini” level by planting a simple garden or enhancing an existing one, adding containers, planters, or hanging baskets or landscape features. Preference is given to first-time applicants. Rolling deadline for grant applications through July 1.
Garden Grants are for new beautification projects at single location. This includes simple projects like sign gardens and building landscaping, as well as complex projects with multiple elements, provided that the project is limited to a single location. Grant application deadline is March 1.
Community Beautification Grants are for community-wide beautification projects at more than one location. Funding may be used for new projects and/or to maintain previously funded Sullivan Renaissance projects. Examples include public gardens, community parks, and streetscape enhancements. Grant application deadline is March 1.
Maintenance Support Grants provide limited financial, volunteer and horticultural support to maintain and/or refresh gardens at a single location. These projects must have been funded by Sullivan Renaissance prior to 2016. Grant application deadline is March 1.
