2019 MUNICIPAL GRANT PROGRAM ANNOUNCED

Funding offered for Sullivan County Towns and Villages

[LIBERTY] – Sullivan Renaissance recently announced that funding will again be available to Sullivan County towns and villages through the Municipal Partnership Grant Program. The program is designed to engage local governments in beautifying public spaces, enhancing code enforcement and building healthy communities.

Up to five municipalities will be selected to participate in this two-phase grant program. Each will receive an initial matching grant of $20,000 in the spring of 2019.  They will then compete for a second round of grants to be announced at the Sullivan Renaissance Awards Ceremony in August. In addition to grant funding, approved projects will receive help from a part-time summer intern, and have access to professional planning and design services.

“Through this program Sullivan County municipalities are taking on projects and addressing issues  beyond beautification in their communities.  They have had tremendous impacts and helped to take the volunteer efforts to a new level,” said Denise Frangipane, Executive Director at Sullivan Renaissance.

Municipalities interested in participating in this grant program must submit an Expression of Interest form by December 31, 2018.  An electronic version of the form is available on the Sullivan Renaissance web site and by following this link.  Full grant proposals are due by February 1, 2019.

Applications for Sullivan Renaissance’s community beautification grants – targeted mainly at community groups, non-profit organizations and schools – will be released in January 2019.  Prospective grantees are encouraged to schedule a site visit and consultation with staff now.

To set up a site visit, call Sullivan Renaissance at 845-295-2445.  To learn more about Sullivan Renaissance’s grant programs, visit www.SullivanRenaissance.org.

Sullivan Renaissance is a beautification and community development initiative principally funded by the Gerry Foundation.
