On location Sullivan Renaissance seminar at the intersection of Route 42 and Anawana Lake Road in the Town of Thompson | Sep. 25, 2017
[FERNDALE] – Sullivan Renaissance is accepting applications from organizations and individuals interested in participating in the 2017 Community Beautification Grant Program. The application deadline is March 13, 2017. Staff are available to assist anyone interested with the application process, including visiting the site of the proposed project.
Last year’s Beautification Grant Program brought new and exciting gardens to the county, including: gardens at Dynamite Youth Center in Fallsburg, Overstuffed Chair Reading area at the Ethelbert B. Crawford Library in Monticello, and a new sign garden at Hudson River Healthcare. The communities of Neversink and Roscoe as well as the Liberty Central School were recognized for their efforts to keep their main streets attractive.
To assist with some of the larger projects, Sullivan Renaissance, in partnership with Center for Workforce Development, will hire several seasonal Project Assistants to work with community volunteers this summer. Formerly called “Interns”, the Project Assistants will also participate in a series of youth development meetings and adopt a Day of Service Project. Salaries start at $10.50 per hour. Candidates must be between the ages of 16 and 20 by March 13th, the application deadline.
Applications for the grants as well as the Project Assistant positions are available at http://www.sullivanrenaissance.org/grants/applications/. They may be completed electronically or mailed to: Sullivan Renaissance, c/o The Gerry Foundation, PO Box 311, Liberty, NY 12754.
Sullivan Renaissance is a beautification and community development program principally funded by the Gerry Foundation.
