Get involved! You can have an impact on your street and in your community. Sullivan Renaissance will kick off an exciting season of grassroots community engagement with a Volunteer Corps Orientation on Wednesday, May 9, at 6:00 p.m. at the CVI Building - 165 Sullivan Avenue in Ferndale. Come out and discover how easily your talents can help make a difference.
The Sullivan Renaissance Volunteer Corps is a group of individuals who offer assistance to a variety of community beautification projects and Sullivan Renaissance initiatives. Opportunities include gardening, program support, outreach, photography, co-leading classes, social media support and more. Volunteer Corps members receive regular opportunity notifications and sign-up to participate based on their interests and availability.
“It helps me see the county where I grew up in a new way,” says returning Volunteer Corps member Melinda Cormier. “It's a way to remember what used to be, to celebrate what is, and to be part of what will be. I enjoy the chance to give back in a really fun way!”
The orientation is an opportunity to learn more about Sullivan Renaissance and discover how to be a part of building beautiful, healthy, active communities throughout Sullivan County. Pre-registration is requested and refreshments will be served. To register or for more information about volunteering, visit SullivanRenaissance.org or call Sullivan Renaissance at 845-295-2445. Event details can also be found on the Sullivan Renaissance Facebook page.
Sullivan Renaissance is a beautification and community development program principally funded by the Gerry Foundation with support from Bold Gold Media Group, The River Reporter, The Sullivan County Democrat, and the Times Herald Record.
