NOMINATIONS SOUGHT FOR SULLIVAN SHOWCASE AWARDS

[MONTICELLO] – Nominations are being sought for the “2007 Sullivan Showcase Awards” to recognize owners of homes and businesses that enhance the appearance of their community.  The awards are presented by the Sullivan County Board of Realtors.  The application deadline is September 10, 2007.

 

Categories include: Best New Residential Construction (over 2,500 square feet); Best New Residential Construction (under 2,500 square feet); Best Residential Renovation (before and after photos required); Best New Commercial; Best Commercial Renovation (before and after photos required); Best Spruce-Up (before and after photos required); Most Improved Seasonal Community (camps/bungalow colonies); Best Municipal or Public Building Project (includes green initiatives); and Other (i.e., most unique, most interesting).

 

A separate application is required for the “Best Municipal or Public Building Project,” which includes a grant of $2000.  This award is made possible through Sullivan Renaissance.

 

The judging criteria include: exteriors only, use of site, innovation, visual appeal, workmanship, date of project, and located in Sullivan County.  Previous finalists are not eligible.  Projects must be completed between January 1, 2005 and August 31, 2007.  Entries must include exterior photos, a brief description and comments on why it is being nominated.  Electronic photos or CD are preferred.

 

Awards will be presented on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at the Eagle’s Nest in Bloomingburg.  Cost of the dinner is $29 per person, tax and tip included.  Reservation deadline is November 1.  The 6:00 p.m. reception includes the chef’s selection of elaborate hot and cold hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.  The 7:00 p.m. dinner offers a menu choice of prime rib of beef au jus, chicken Marsala, filet of salmon with fine herbs or eggplant parmesan.
