Plants bring people together! The power of flowers attracts visitors and make our citizens proud of where they live.

Through partnership, collaboration, cooperation and empowerment – beautification grants allow community minded people to invest in the appearance of the place they call home, which makes both residents and visitors feel welcome and safe.

Our programs introduce residents to the world of gardening. To assist in the learning process Sullivan Renaissance provides free gardening seminars throughout the year for both new and regular gardeners.

Gardening Tips, Plant of the Week and Garden Inspiration posts can be found on the Sullivan Renaissance Facebook page.

Our free online Resource Guide gives helpful horticulture hints for choosing, planting and maintaining a sustainable landscape. These tools assist those seeking grants with all the information needed to begin the creative process of designing a garden . Horticulture staff can also help with creation of a garden design. Our Garden Design Packet will further assist with bringing to life the plan for a new garden.

Our Renaissance Collection is a selection of annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs that thrive in Sullivan County. Many are low maintenance, deer resistant and native to the United States. A list of companion plants completes the menu of choices to ensure that one’s garden will look attractive and will grow successfully.
